New York Times on the launch of backscatter at Sky Harbor (need site registration and allow cookies): http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/24/us/24scan.html
I went through one of the puff machines they mention in the article at the San Francisco airport last Fall, which was interesting. I'm not interested in volunteering for backscatter.
Bye-bye 2024, I won’t miss you.

my favorite part: "Special “privacy” software intentionally blurs the image, creating an outline of a body that is clear enough to see a collarbone, bellybutton or weapon, but flattens details of revealing contours." Two thoughts: 1) this sounds suspiciously like the photography of bob guccione and 2) having one's revealing details flattened, sounds like it would hurt. Can I use a safety word? STOP.
